Description:
Applicants are invited for 2016 Social Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Zimbabwe for young entrepreneurs with a proven track record of entrepreneurship, leadership and passion to address a social issue. The sessions will start in early May.“Ever wondered what it takes to built an enterprise or business around some of society’s pressing problems? What measures can you take to be more sustainable and also have an impact? Do you believe that you can be the change you want to see in the world?” Then apply for this year’s six month Social Entrepreneurship Bootcamp where you can get help and insight from both international and local experts and social entrepreneurs. The program involves 2-3 in person sessions a month, assignments and a couple of site visits spread across the six months.
Eligibility
- This boot camp is open to individuals who:
- Are citizens and/or residents of Zimbabwe
- Are 25-35 years of age and
- Have not participated in the U.S. exchange program such as the Mandela Washington Fellowship in the last five years.
Selection Criteria
While each applicant is unique and will be different, successful candidates will be those who can demonstrate:
- An unwavering commitment to a social issue close to their heart;
- An ability to be an independent problem solver;
- A positive track record of leadership.
- Passion and track record of entrepreneurship

What is expected of bootcamp participants
If you are selected to participate in the bootcamp, it is expected of you to:Attend all workshops;
- Complete all assignments in a timely fashion;
- Read the provided course or training materials;
- Participate in peer reviews; and
- Personal commitment to sustaining your social enterprise or startup after the bootcamp ends.
